Meet Your Friendly Neighborhood Docs
To Your Health!
“We have a very integrated, holistic approach to patient care — ‘one-stop shopping’ if you will. We try to ensure that patients are being cared for at all levels. Each is served by a team made up of a provider, a nurse, a medical assistant and front desk staff. This ensures a clear channel of communication regarding the patient’s individual needs.”
The staff at High Point Medical and Dental Clinic speak over a dozen different languages. That comes in handy since the patients they serve speak more than two dozen. “We serve a very diverse population,” said Pam Macnab, program manager for the clinic. “So I hire staff that reflect this diversity. It’s important for patients to feel comfortable when they walk in the door.”
The clinic has served the High Point neighborhood for over 30 years. It opened its new facilities at the corner of 35th Avenue SW and SW Raymond in 2003. The 16,400 square-foot, two-story building has allowed the clinic to expand its services to include prenatal, midwifery and newborn care; well-child visits and physical examinations; treatment of illnesses and minor injuries; behavioral health counseling; and general and emergency dentistry.
“We’re just thrilled with the new building. Our clinic was originally in a cluster of converted housing units. In our new facilities we have been able to increase our capacity to serve up to 2,000 more patients.”
Patients are thrilled with the new facilities as well. When they first moved to their new location, Pam rode the elevator with a patient and asked her how she liked the new building. “Her eyes misted up and she said, ‘I’m so glad you finally have a building that reflects the quality of care that you give your patients.’”
